An early Harry Dean strike was enough to earn three points at Allscott Heath for The Millers, from a game that appeared for a while as though it would be comfortable, but ultimately required a wonderful save by Joey Oldham at the death to secure the win.
Chris Baguley made changes to the team from last weekends win over Wolverhampton Sporting Community at Church Lane, Harry and Kain Dean returned to the starting line up and Ben McNamara came in for his debut, the new addition from Abbey Hey was to prove a key figure for The Millers as they defended their lead late on.
With just three minutes gone Callum Preece sent Harry Dean clear on goal, the attacker made mistake, blasting in at the near post with Bayden Ngo-Zulu in the Allscott Heath goal positioning himself in preparation for a shot to the other corner. The Millers went on to dominate the half, but without threatening to add to their advantage.
The home side came into the game after the break but The Millers still looked the more likely, substitute Lee Knight and then Danny Warburton missing opportunities in quick succession. With time running out Allscott Heath were awarded a free-kick thirty yards out, the set piece delivery was perfect, as was the glancing header, as the home side began to celebrate what seemed a certain equaliser Oldham flew across his goal to somehow palm the ball away, Darius Photiou completed the clearance and the referee immediately brought the game to a close.
