New Mills Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of striker John Cofie.
Cofie began his career at Burnley before moving to Manchester United at the age of 14 where he spent several years playing alongside the likes of Paul Pogba, Jessie Lingard, Michael Keane and Daniel Drinkwater. Whilst at Old Trafford Cofie spent loan spells at Royal Antwerp, Sheffield United and Notts County. After leaving United he moved onto Barnsley before moving to Norwegian club Molde in 2014.
On returning to the UK Cofie has spent time at Crawley Town, Wrexham, AFC Telford United and Southport.
Cofie is well known at Church Lane, having netted five goals for Manchester United in a friendly game against The Millers back in 2011, and he has appeared in several of the clubs pre-season friendly fixtures. Unfortunately he picked up a knock against Stockport County U19’s but it is hoped that he will be back in action soon.
Everyone at the club is delighted to welcome John to Church Lane.
