Eccleshall are the visitors to Church Lane this weekend as Dave Birch and Mike Norton's side return to North West Counties Football League action after progressing past Armthorpe Welfare in the FA Vase last Saturday.
The Staffordshire side have shown improved league form recently, coming into the game on the back of a draw against Cheadle Heath Nomads and a victory over St Martins, although they withdrew from the FA Vase ahead of last weekends fixtures. The Millers are unbeaten in their nine league games so far, a draw at West Didsbury & Chorlton being the only occasion that they have failed to secure three points so far this season.
Eccleshall's record against The Millers is a good one, in the 14 games between the two sides they have recorded 7 victories to 5. The previous encounter between the sides ended in The Millers favour, back in March 2020 when an injury time penalty by Benito Lowe earned his side all three points. Earlier in the 2019/20 campaign Eccleshall recorded a 3-0 win at Church Lane on August Bank Holiday Monday, the match that signalled the end of Paul Riley's time as Manager of The Millers, before the sides drew 3-3 in the League Cup (Eccleshall winning on penalties) twelve days later.
Sam Amankwaa (knee) continued his recovery from injury, appearing as a substitute in last weekends game, while Rick Tindall (groin) is also hoping to return tomorrow, both likely to take a place on the substitutes bench.
Representatives of the North West Counties Football League will be in attendance tomorrow to present New Mills FC with the Division One South Club of the Month award for August, and to present Benito Lowe with the Division One South Player of the Month award, also for August.
Tomorrow's game also marks the start of the clubs '100 Years at Church Lane' celebrations, with former players of the club invited to attend the game FREE of charge.
The match kicks off at 3:00pm and Millers Bar is open from 12:30pm.
